Process Control DesignInnovative Chemical Engineering Technology Design
Innovative chemical engineering technology design is a research-driven engineering service delivered in partnership with Comprehensive Water Technology (CWT), a branch company of a Chemical Engineering and Technology University from Europe, so small-to-medium processes, plants, research facilities, and universities get chemical engineering technology that is researched, designed, tested, constructed, and implemented around their own end-use needs rather than adapted from a generic product.
What This Design Service Includes
What the Service Includes
Innovative Chemical Engineering Technology Design is delivered in partnership with Comprehensive Water Technology (CWT), the branch company of a Chemical Engineering and Technology University from Europe, so small-to-medium processes, plants, research facilities, and universities get technology researched, designed, tested, constructed, and implemented around their own needs.
- Comprehensive scientific research and pilot-plant study
- Conceptual and technological design built on that research
- Testing and validation of the resulting system or equipment
- Final construction and implementation, adapted to the end user rather than delivered as a fixed template
The company's primary activity began with tap and waste water treatment design, built on this scientific-research approach, and has since extended into other chemical engineering branches — no two projects are delivered the same way.
Applied Technology Examples
The examples below are delivered projects, not concepts — each built on the same research-first approach and ending in a working, automated system on a customer's site.
Photobioreactor system for microalgae biodiesel. Four automated photobioreactors were designed and built for the optimal cultivation of specific microalgae, used to produce biodiesel from waste water — an example of the service reaching beyond water treatment into applied bioprocess engineering.
Tap water treatment plant reconstruction. A tap water treatment plant was reconstructed after high concentrations of iron, manganese, and arsenic were found in the source water, and separately, filter plants for iron and suspended-particle removal have been designed and automated for water used in cleaning applications.
Non-standard test and process equipment. Beyond water treatment, the same design approach produced a diesel fuel foam testing system, a combustible gas mixer built to safely test industrial equipment against 8 flammable gases in explosive conditions, and a chemical reactor for soap production adapted to blind and partially sighted operators to specific ISO norms.
What PiControl and CWT Can Deliver Together
The scope covers the full path from analytical research to a wired, running system:
- Extensive technological research of sustainable tap and waste water treatment and purification procedures using pilot plants.
- Development of conceptual and technological sustainable water purification systems based on the conducted analytical research.
- Research and development of new analytical methods, technological processes, and complex measuring and analytic devices or sensors.
- Automation, development, and production of specific, non-standard equipment for process industry, science, and research.
- Equipment and measuring sensor specification, installation, and wiring.
- Equipment installation and wiring, and electrical cabinet design and application.
- Development and construction of laboratory research units in chemical engineering and beyond.
Delivery and Who This Service Is For
This service targets small-to-medium processes, plants, research facilities, and universities that need chemical engineering technology built around a specific problem, not bought off a shelf. Because work is scoped project by project, an engagement can be as focused as one non-standard sensor installation or as broad as a full water treatment plant design, automation, testing, and start-up.
For universities and colleges already using PiControl's process control training and simulation tools, this service extends that relationship into applied chemical engineering research infrastructure — see process control solutions for universities and colleges for the training side of that work.
4-Photobioreactor System: Microalgae-to-Biodiesel Production
Four automated photobioreactors were designed and built for the optimal cultivation of specific microalgae, producing biodiesel from waste water — the service reaching beyond water treatment into applied bioprocess engineering.
How a Technology Design Project Moves From Research to Plant
A four-step protocol from scientific research to construction and implementation — every solution adapted to the end user's actual process.
Scientific Research
PiControl and CWT run extensive technological research on pilot plants before any system is designed, using a scientific-research approach so every downstream design decision is grounded in measured process behavior rather than assumption.
